Arena - Marina and the Diamonds
By her own admission, Marina didn't listen to a note of decent music until the age of 18. Yet it doesn't seem to have done her any harm.
Thanks to her eccentric, at times epic, piano-len tunes, the 23-year old is now being talked about as the British Gwen Stefani - only she actually plays an instrument. But when it comes down to the half-Greek, half-Welsh Diamond's sound it's hard to look beyond Kate Bush.
Like Bush, Diamond has a charmingly wild streak. "I once tried to punch a guy at my gig. This wanker in front of me was trying to tip my keyboard upside down and I just snapped. I finished the song then I swung for him, but it was embarrassing because it was such a rubbish girly punch," she explains miming a terrible jab. "I wish I'd hit him properly."
